PENGEMBANGAN MODEL MATERI AJAR DAN PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA SLTP YANG BERPERSPEKTIF KESETARAAN GENDER
Abstract
The research is an action research whose major problem is to develop a
model of Indonesian teaching-learning material for SLTP in order to improve
the students’ attitude towards gender equality. The sources of the study include
the following: (1) informants consisting of teachers (of the Indonesian
language and literature) and students of SMP, (2) happenings during the learning
processes, and (3) documents. The data-collecting methods include observation
and interview. The interview in particular is required to explore the
learning performance based on gender equality perspective. The result of this
action research shows the following conclusions: (1) gender bias occurs at
the former setting prior to the model implementation, (2) gender bias remains
to occur during the early phase (first and second cycles) of the model implementation,
and (3) improvement of students’ attitudes towards gender equality
begins to occur after the third and fourth teaching cycles. This means that
the improved model of teaching and learning material applied in the action
research has effectively increased the students’ attitudes towards gender equality.
