The acute toxicity testing have been conducted in the male and female rats SD strain of rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) fruit peel extract. The testing had been done by providing with a dose ranked as follows: the first dose; 0 mg / kgBW, dose II; 400 mg / kgBW, dose III; 1,400 mg / kgBW, IV doses; 4,900 mg / kgBW, and the dosage of V; 17,150 mg / kgBW for 14 days. Then it had been observed clinical symptoms that happened, changed in body weight per week and defect on vital organs, namely: the liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines, spleen, heart and lungs. The results of this study was concluded that the highest dose of up to 17,150 mg / kgBW of the extract, safety and proved to be not toxic to the female and male rats SD strain.
