dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the background of specialization in school with a mastery of basic concepts of science in students PGSD UMS first semester of the class A and B, academic year 2015/2016. The method used in this research is survey method with quantitative approach through comparative analysis. Samples from this study are primary teacher education students FKIP UMS first semester of the class A and B of the academic year 2015/2016. The study was conducted in Okober-December 2015. The sampling technique is a technique nonprobability sampling, the sampling means incidental. Data collection techniques by using the method: (1) test for mastery of the basic concepts of science, (2) interview to determine the specialization in high school, (3) observation, to record the phenomena observed in this study. Data analysis was performed with SPSS 16 software using Independent-Sample T Test. In conclusion: there is a relationship of specialization in school background with a mastery of basic science concepts to primary teacher education students FKIP UMS class A and B the first semester of academic year 2015/2016.in_ID
