Twenty five male Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups, such as the negative control group were given a suspension of 0.5% CMC-Na, the positive control group were given suspensions glibenclamide 0.9 mg/kgBW, and three groups were treated of the Sala stem bark dose 125 mg/kgBW, 250 mg/kgBW, and
500/kgBW. The administration was done every day for 11 days with oral administration of
2.5 ml/200gBW after increase the volume in blood glucose ≥ 200 mg/dL in rats induced alloxan 150 mg/kgBW. The data obtained from the examination of blood glucose on day 0, the 3rd and 11th day after treatment. Statistical test results P value <0.05 showed that the ethanol extract of the Sala stem bark in dose 125 m /kgBW, 250 mg kgBW and 500 mg/kgBW can decrease blood glucose in rats and has significant difference than negative control.
