Abstract
Qualified learning is if there is a potential empowerment in learning so that the objective
of learning is gained. The quality of learning can be seen from many aspects, such as: the time
using in the class, collaboration and students’ activity, the change of attitude and behavior in learning,
and the result of the learning. The aim of this research is to know the implementation of Thinks Pair
Share (TPS) model in increasing the achievement of PGSD students in Basic Concept IPA subject.
The object of the research was the first semester students of PGSD FKIP-UMS 2007/2008. This
action research was done by two cycles, in every cycle covered planning, acting, observing, and
reflecting. The results show that (1) the average of the learning result on the first cycle is 45,33 or
increase 2,00 from the initial value with SD 0,627. The average of he learning result on the second
cycle is 76,69 or increase 31,36 from the first cycle with SD 0,531. It means that collaborative
learning with TPS can increase the learning result as 33,36. It indicates that the use of TPS is
effective for teaching Basic Concept IPA subject.
