Abstract
The type of this research is quasi experiment with pre-test and post-test control group
design. The observed criterion variable in this research are (1) the result of mathematic learning,
(1) the motivation of mathematic learning. The independent variable is the learning model application
that are grouped into two: the application of NHT and conventional method. The population are all
the students of class V SD at Banyumanik Semarang 2008/2009. The sample is Class VA and B SD
Ngesrep 01/02 Sumurboto, banyumanik Semarang. The aims of this study are to know the effect of
the application of NHT learning model toward the result of mathematic learning with the topic oval
numeric and the effect on the motivation of learning oval numeric. The results of this study are there
are positive significance of the application of NHT toward the mathematic learning achievement
and also positive motivation in learning mathematics.
