TINGKAT KOGNITIF (PENGETAHUAN) GURU SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA (SMP) NEGERI DI PROVINSI RIAU TENTANG KONSEP PENILAIAN BERBASIS KELAS: SATU PENILAIAN
Abstract
This research is aimed at finding out the cognitive level of the state SMP teachers toward
the concept of classroom-based assessment. The sample respondents were 297 English teachers
taken from 11 cities/regencies within Riau Province. The procedure of the research was administered
by inviting them to give an opinion through a set of questionnaire containing statements on cognitive
aspects towards the concept of classroom-based assessment. This kind of data collection is known as
Context, Input, Process and Product (CIPP) created by Stufflebeam et.al (1971). Data analysis was
calculated in descriptive method using SPSS Version 11.5, that is, by describing the percentage, min
score as well as the standard deviation. Data calculation described that the lowest min score was
3.2949 with the standard deviation 0.63; while the highest one was 3.5539 with the standard deviation
0.53. As a result, the average min score was 3.4244 with the standard deviation 0.5866. Based on this
calculation, it could be concluded that the cognitive level of state SMP English teachers within Riau
Province towards the concept of classroom-based assessment was in ‘mediocre’ level, particularly,
on the aspects of ‘introduction’, comprehension’, ‘application’, ‘analysis’, ‘synthesis’ and ‘evaluation.’
