Herbal medicine is one of the nation's cultural heritage that has been used for
generations. The circulation of BKOs (drug chemicals), the more drugstores or
pharmacies and the easier access to drugs to make herbs increasingly in crisis. This
study aims to determine the great level of capability and social capital of the
sustainability of herbal medicine business in Sukoharjo.
The object of this research is herbal trader in Nguter Market, which become
member of Kojai (Cooperative of Jamu Indonesia) spread in Sukoharjo and
surrounding area. This research type is quantitative research with method.
Instruments used questionnaire. While the number of samples or respondents from
this study as many as 75 respondents. Validity of data can be obtained through
validity and reliability. Research using Social Capital Theory.
The results showed a strong capability level on the viability of herbal
medicine business that is equal to 69.0%. Social capital has a very weak effect on the
viability of herbal medicine business that is equal to 1.1%. There is an indirect effect
of capabilities on the viability of herbal medicine business by using current goods
amounted to -6.4%. Social Capital Development - 13.3% towards business
continuity. Effect of total capability on business sustainability.The influence of total
social capital on business sustainability. The coefficient of determination or variance
explained by capability, social capital, and commodity use on business continuity
30.5%.
