dc.description.abstractSetiap pekerjaan konstruksi selalu terdiri dari engineering (perencanaan), procurement (pembelian material dan pengangkutan material ke lapangan/site), installation (pelaksanaan pembangunan di lapangan/site). Permasalahan yang dihadapi di Indonesia yang merupakan negara kepulauan adalah bagaimana cara material yang dihasilkan dari perencanaan dapat terkirim tepat waktu serta dibangun dengan baik dan cepat serta memenuhi standar. Karenanya, penggunaan struktur Baja Ringan (Cold Form Steel) merupakan pilihan yang tepat, karena mempunyai karakteristik lebih ringan dari baja konvensional (Mild Steel) dengan kekuatan tarik (tensile strength) dua kali lebih tinggi dari baja konvensional. Meskipun demikian, Cold Form Steel mempunyai beberapa kekurangan antara lain ketebalan material maximum hanya 3 mm, tidak dapat menahan beban vibrasi yang besar, lebih peka terhadap gaya tekan yang berakibat profil lebih mudah mengalami tekuk. Kekurangan tersebut dapat diatasi, bila struktur direncanakan secara baik sesuai dengan standard yang berlaku, sehingga memberikan manfaat berupa penghematan biaya dan waktu. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuktikan manfaat-manfaat penggunaan Baja Ringan dengan melakukan perbandingan biaya dan waktu pelaksanaan pada project Bandara International Mozes Kilangin Timika Papua.id_ID
