dc.description.abstractBased on the initial survey of the well water in Karangtengah village, the number hardness was 527 mg/l. The objective of this research is to know the influence of many kinds of thickness combination with active charcoal in decreasing the well water hardness degree in Desa Karangtengah Kecamatan Weru Kabupaten Sukoharjo. This research is the experiment with pretest posttest only with control group design. Thickness filter combination used in this research to reduce the hardness to well water thickness is 60 cm, 70 cm, and 80 cm with each three times replay. The number of sample are 13 samples. The result of this research shows that there is no differences between the temperature and pH before and after the thickness filter media treatment zeolite and active charcoal. The degree of hardness before the treatment is 557,14 mg/l. Counted the value of the thickness turn on 60cm is 71.54%, the 70cm thickness about 94,36%, on 80cm thickness is about 92,3%. The test result of one way anova shows the significancy value 0,00<0,01 so there is significant influence on the decrease of hardness degree.en_US
