The paper proposes an Islamic-based democratic education to be put into practice in Indonesia. It unveils the process of musyawarah and dialogues among teacher and learners in the classroom practices. A mutual and reciprocal atmosphere is the absolute ingredients toward sucess. Teachers shall be proactive to learners’ critical stands. Obligations and rights are to be carried-out to fulfill people’s maslahat, public good. The paper foresees its prospect as becoming a long-stony way to achieve due to the raising cost of educational fee. Owing to the grant on educational independence and autonomy during the Reformation Era, private educational institutions in Indonesia face tremendeous problems in supporting and financing its operation.en_US
