    Abstract
    This study aims to investigate the characteristics of the management of vocational high schools based on ISO 9001: 2008 in SMK Negeri 1 Boyolali, which is divided into three focus include (1) How the characteristics of the school academic policies, (2) How the characteristics of the academic quality of school policy is, and (3) How the characteristics of manual procedures / quality assurance administration school at SMK Negeri 1 Boyolali in the implementation of quality management system ISO 9001:2008. The purpose of this study was to (1) Describe the characteristics of the school academic policies, (2) Describe the academic quality of school policy, and (3) Describe quality assurance procedures manual school at SMK Negeri 1 Boyolali in the implementation of quality management system ISO 9001:2008. The method used in this study is qualitative study, data collection technique used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of data using qualitative data analysis with interactive models, and the validity of using triangulation of data sources and triangulation techniques. Theory of research results (1) The characteristics of policy academic of school : the achievement vision of school is determined by, the development of curriculum and teaching programs, the admission of new students, the human resource developent (HRD), the improvement of infrastructure, and the evaluations wich conducted in the context of overall improvements in various fields will affect the completeness of education services at school. (2) The characteristics of the quality policy academic of school : the quality of education in school determine to the customer satisfaction. (3) The characteristic of the manual procedures assurance quality of school : The good management of manual procedures assurance quality of school can inprove a culture considering the importance of quality assurance and completion the job description.
