    Abstract
    Hypertension is the leading cause of death by the occurrence of stroke, myocardial infarction and renal failure. Various risk factors for hypertension include genetic, race, age, gender, smoking, obesity, and psychological stress and the factors that lead to a recurrence of hypertension among others is stressed. This study aims to determine the relationship between stress and the occurrence of relapse in patients with hypertension in the Health Center Bendosari Sukoharjo. This research is a descriptive analytic cross sectional study approach. The study population was patients with hypertension in Sukoharjo Bendosari Health Center in 2011, while the sample of 70 patients using incidental sampling method. Research instruments such as questionnaires and documentation. Hypothesis testing techniques are Chi Square test. Based on the analysis and discussion, this study concludes that there is a relationship between stress and relapse in patients with hypertension Bendosari Sukoharjo health center.
