Pendidikan Multikultural Melalui Reaktualisasi Teater Tradisi di Surakarta
The purpose of this study are (1) to reactulization theater tradition in the dynamics of modernization, (2) describe the contribution of theater in multicultural education. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Data source is a document, place and tradition of theatrical events, and sources (informants) both expert/critic theater tradition and watcher’s theate. The data collection was done by using literature, observation, and in-depth interviews. The data analysis was done by using content analysis and interactive methods. Research results and the discussion are: (1) (a) cultivating reactualizationed theater traditions in tune with the signs of the times, (b) management should be professional theatrical tradition with modern management principles, (c) the need to bring in staging the stars famous guests in order to become a magnetic power for spectators; (d ) the necessary staging a synergistic cooperation between the manager/worker theatrical tradition with human and relevant institutions, (2) Contributions theater tradition as a medium of socialization and multicultural education are: (a) Theatre tradition can be a synthesis of ideas and media community a taste of traditional (old ) with the idea and taste of modern society because it is elastic, relaxed atmosphere of, for shared and for all, and (b) with a mixture of Indonesian and local languages in dialogue the actors then socialization and multicultural education will take place more easily, and (c) Teaching literature with extra-curricular activities in the “Studio Literature “ and the theatrical tradition is the value of multicultural socialization media for students and young people generally.
