    Abstract
    As the culture product, sintren dance performance has symbols conveying advice for the next generation. However, this advice hidden in these symbols is meaningless if we do not understand these symbols. Then, it creates a context which illustrates the result of making symbols and deconstruction sintren dance performance contributing on the social-problem solving. This research intends to re-defining meanings on sintren dance performance in the actual context. Operationally, this research aims at (1) finding symbolic meanings deconstruction of sintren dance performance and (2) finding the potency of the result from the symbolic meaning deconstruction of sintren dance performance as cultural-based sex education. This research is in the humanities. The data are analyzed using descriptiveinterpretative technique data analysis. This research applies Derrida deconstruction theory as its research approach. The text used in sintren dance performance is analyzed not only based on its formality, or its phenomena, but also its esthetical values and functions. The reseach found that symbolic meanings deconstruction of sintren dance performance was seen from the costumes worn by the dancer, equipment supporting performances, movements, and songs. The meaning-making of the symbols on sintren dance performance, sustained by meaning-making of the songs, is potententially used as cultural-based sex education.
