    Abstract
    The research has aim to describe the pattern of modification and composition of Bahasa Indonesia Test Instrument of National Examination of Junior High School in academic year 2012/ 2013. The method used in the research was qualitative descriptive research by analitical method. The data used were twenty test instruments package of Bahasa Indonesia of National Examination of Junior High School in academic year 2012/ 2013. Based on the research data type, the collecting data were conducted by the technique of documentation. The documentation process was conducted by analyzing the twenty packages of test instrument of Bahasa Indonesia National Examination to determine the number of the texts used in twenty packages of the test instrument. After the texts had finished to be mapped, the researchers analyzed the pattern of modification and composition of Bahasa Indonesia test instrument of National Examination of Junior High School in academic year 2012/ 2013. The technique of data analyze were using the content or document analysis which aim to know the meaning, position and the relation between the various concepts in order to know the advantages, result, or the effects appeared. The testing of data validity will be conducted by the discussion with the peers. Based on the results of data analysis conducted, it can be concluded that the results of the research were: (1) the pattern of modification of Bahasa Indonesia test instrument of National Examination of Junior High School in academic year 2012/2013 was conducted by randomly by combining some texts with the same questions in every test instrument. However, there are some tests instrument which are not modified from the different texts, in other words, it only based on one text, they are the test instruments number 26, 32, 38, 39,and 42. Nevertheless, the test instruments number 19, 20, 24, 30, 31, 40, 49, 50 were modified from the seven different texts, and other than those which has already mentioned above were modified from the eight different text; (2) the composition of Bahasa Indonesia test instrument of National Examination of Junior High School in academic year 2012/2013 showed that there were no composition balancing which developed of Bahasa Indonesia test instrument of National Examination of Junior High School. From the comparison between the competence standard of language and literary, it showed the number 72%: 28% as the comparison. It could be known that the test instrument developed by the literary competence standard was still low in number. From the comparison between the language and the literary skill, it could be known that the skill comparison of listening, speaking, reading and writing were 0%:8%:50%:42%.
