Experimentation of Cooperative Learning Model using Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Type and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) on Linear Equations System in Two Variables Material be Viewed from Student Learning Activity of Junior High School in Grobogan Regency. 1st advisor: Prof. Dr. Budiyono, M.Sc., 2nd advisor: Drs. Sutrima, M.Si. Thesis. Mathematics Education Department, Postgraduate Program of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. 2011. The aim of this study is to determine: (1) Whether TGT learning model provides better mathematics learning achievement than NHT learning model (2) Whether students’ mathematics learning achievement with high activity is better than middle activity ones and students’ mathematics learning achievement with middle activity is better than low activity ones (3) In each activity level (low, middle and high) which gives better mathematics learning achievement, the learning model of TGT or NHT (4) In each model (TGT and NHT), which gives mathematics learning achievement better, students with high, middle or low activity ones. This research is a quasi experiment with 2×3 factorial design. The population of this research were all of 8th grade students of Junior High School in 2010 – 2011 academic year of Grobogan Regency. The selection of the samples was done by stratified cluster random sampling. The samples were drawn from the students of SMPN 3 Purwodadi, SMPN 2 Purwodadi and SMPN 6 Purwodadi. The number of respondents in this research was 225 students. The instruments used to collect data are mathematics achievement test and student learning activity questionnaire. Data analysis technique used unbalance two ways analysis of variance. The conclusions of the research are: (1) TGT learning model provides better mathematics learning achievement than NHT learning model, (2) Students’ mathematics learning achievement with high activity is better than low activity ones, students’en_US
