dc.description.abstractMembaca merupakan kemampuan dasar utama pembelajaran bahasa. Kemampuan membaca akan membantu siswa dalam memperoleh pengetahuan dan memahami bacaan yang ada dalam mata pelajaran. Dalam proses ini akan bermanfaat bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan berfikir nalar, sosial dan emosionalnya. Membaca diakui sebagai keterampilan dasar pada hampir semua mata pelajaran. Kebanyakan siswa berhasil belajar membaca sepanjang sekolah dasar, dan menjadi landasan keberhasilan dalam pemahaman membaca tingkat tinggi yang diharapkan saat sekolah menegah dan sekolah tinggi (Silliman, 2004). PALS (Peer Assisted Learning Strategies) dapat menjadi salah satu strategi pendidikan yang efisien di mana siswa dapat terlibat secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dengan metode rekan sebaya.in_ID
