Konsentrasi Spasial Industri Industri Unggulan Kota Surakarta
Abstract
Surakarta is a city that has potential force as a center of economic activity; in this case the role
of the industrial sector is still dominant in the formation of the city budget together with the trade sector, so that the industrial sector is still the driving force of the economy in Surakarta. This study describes the industries that became the basis of Surakarta, based on the analyst; at a regional scale, Surakarta has five leading industries i.e. food and beverage industry (ISIC 15),
Textiles and textile products / miscellaneous (ISIC 17), apparel (ISIC 18), printing (ISIC 22), and the furniture industry (ISIC 36). The second phase of the study was to analyze the pattern of spatial concentration based on elements of labor and industrial units, where the approach is
done with a Geographic Information System (GIS) through Moran Index criteria. Results in the
second phase are; the concentration of leading (basis) industrial in Surakarta located 4 Districts: (1) Mojosongo and Jebres; (2) Laweyan and Pajang (3) the District Tipes, and (4) Pasar Kliwon. The spatial distribution based on labor, explaining that the highest concentration of workers are located in Kerten and Laweyan, then spread the surrounding region as Pajang and Sondakan. The third stage of the study describes the spatial concentration of industries in Surakarta, at this stage, the approach made by the Geographic Information Systems and Entrophi Theil methods, the results of the third phase describes the locations of concentrated seed industry in Surakarta.
