A decrease in the concentration of p-chlorophenol with photocatalyst TiO2 and Fe ( III ) has been studied. The process of decreasing the concentration of p–chlorophenol was carried out in a closed reactor equipped with UV lamp C-type 40 Watt in a batch system. The suspension of p- chlorophenol, TiO2 powder, FeCl3 solution was saturated with oxygen then expossed by the UV light, stirred for a period of time, and the concentration of p-chlorophenol undegradated was determined by gas chromatography (GC). The decrease in p-chlorophenol concentration was calculated by substracting the initial by residual p-chlorophenol concentration. The compounds produced from the p-chlorophenol concentration decrease have been identified by HPLC. The research results showed that the highest effectivenesss of photodegradation of p-chlorophenol catalyzed by TiO2 in the presence of Fe (III) ion was 93.90% and the condition giving maximum effectiveness was 300 mg/L of the initial of concentration of p-chlorophenol, 600 mg/L of the concentration of Fe(III) ion, the pH of solution 6-8, and the time contact 25 hours. During the decrease p-chlorophenol concentration process, TiO2 cristallinity was partially destroyed as much as 14.13%, and p-chlorophenol was oxidized into hydroquinon and the three other compounds that have not been identified yet.
