    Abstract
The purpo se of this research is to determine the eff ect of variations of blank holder force (BHF) an d friction coefficient against wrink ling and thinning defects in the cup drawing process. Simulation s is carried ou t to replace the trad itional method of trial and error. Therefore, the production cost and time can be reduced. There are five variations o f blank holder f orce used in this simulation i.e 37, 57, 77 , 9 7 and 117 N and four variation s of the f riction coefficient of 0.05, 0.15 , 0.25, and 0.35 . Aluminium and Zinc was selected as b lank material with the thick ness of 0.32 an d 0.3 mm respectively. The result shows that the wrink ling was decreased in the increasing of BHF an d friction coefficient. However, the thinning was increased as well. Finally, the opti mum BHF must be selected to give better results in both wrink ling and thinning .
