The Effectiveness of Egg Protein to Malnutrition Recovery in Toddler
Abstract
Toddlers need nutrition derived from animal protein for their growth and maintenance their health. Eggs are on e sou rce of animal protein, which the function is to repair organs, such as, muscles, sk in, and orga ns all composed of protein. The goal of this stud y was to determine the ef fectiveness of egg protein for the recovery to malnutrition recovery in todd ler under five years throu gh increased the weight results. This stud y used a quasi-experimental design with the approach of case an d control. The sample in this stud y was 10 malnutrition todd lers as cases and 10 malnutrition todd lers as a control. This study used univariate and biv ariate analys is us ing T tes t. The results of this study showed the value of ρ value of 0.024 (CI: 0.88 to 127.00) OR 9.33, showing that the con sumption of eggs for 30 days can increase the weight of toddlers sign ifican tly an d 9 times compared to the control group. It can be concluded that giving the eggs protein can improve the nutritional status of toddlers.
