dc.description.abstract | Men asked to become a superior creature of God's creation than women. This is clearly expressed in some texts of scripture divine religions. About the creation story of Adam and Eve also asserts that it is a mere disposition. In turn, the men look more dominating in every aspect of life. It was also seems to be present in the verses of the song lyrics Tarling Cirebon. How men adored and praised by women with various tropes. This study examines the qualitative descriptive representation of male authority in the lyrics Tarling Cirebon. Through a semiotic approach Barthes (1972) note that the power of men over women in the lyrics Tarling Cirebonan represented through metaphors such as lanange jagat, Arjuna Ireng and dewa asmara.
