    Abstract
Blank is a very important part in the cup drawing process and influential in preventing the wrinkling defect. One type of blanks is tailor blanks (TBs). TBs is a flat sheet metal with a joinning zone. The joinning can be conducted by using welding or seam joining. Related to the joining types, the research is carried out by varying the joining i.e spot welding and seam joining. The research was started by manufacturing of dies with the dimensions parameters adopted from Numisheet 2014 Benchmark Model 4. Fathermore, making a blank is conducted by using spot welding and seam joint. There are three types specimens for experimental work. The sheep plate thickness was 0.2 mm. The results shows that the highest wrinkling defect was 1.5 mm hight for the specimen TBs with spot welding. While, the lowest wrinkling defect was 0.38 mm for the original blank sheet without joining. The specimen with seam joining was fail on the joining zone during cup drawing.
