The Community Empowerment Through Corporate Social Responsibility: A Case Of The Limited Liability Company Of Pt. Holcim Indonesia Tbk Cilacap Plant
Abstract
The objectives of this research are: (1) to explain the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) developed by of PT. HolcimIndonesia Tbk. Cilacap Plant; (2) to explain the activities of the
community empowerment conducted by the Limited Liability Company of PT. HolcimIndonesia
Tbk. Cilacap Plant; (3) to explain the perception and participation of the community on the activities
of the community empowerment conducted by the Limited Liability Company of PT.
HolcimIndonesia Tbk. Cilacap Plant; (4) to reveal the factors influencing the evaluation on the
results and benefits of the community empowerment; and (5) to formulate the model which can be
done in the community empowerment through CSR developed by the Limited Liability Company of
PT. HolcimIndonesia Tbk. Cilacap Plant.
This research used the explanatory and correlational study. The data and information of the research
were explored in depth. The samples of the research were taken by using group random sampling
with many phases. The population of the research consisted of 612, and the respondents of the
research were 250. The data of the research were analyzed by using path analysis.
The results of the research show that: (1) the concept of CSR of the Limited Liability Company of
PT. Holcim Indonesia Tbk. Cilacap Plant has shown the high commitment toward the
implementation of its CSR; (2) the results of the community empowerment activities cover
education, health, economy, and environment with adequate budget allocations; (3) the perception
and participation of the community toward the community empowerment activities are high and are
strengthened by the results and benefits of CSR; (4) the factors influencing the evaluation on the
benefits of the community empowerment are as follows: (a) the evaluation on the results of the
empowerment that all of the perceptions of the community have significant effects, which include
perceptions on the group dynamics, government support, community’s participation in the
empowerment, variety of benefit recipients, variety of CSR activities, performance of CSR, and
CSR b) internal factors, c) external factors, and d) information on CSR; (5) the formulations of
model in the community empowerment activities through CSR on the evaluation of the community
empowerment benefits through CSR activities include the following: a) the evaluation of the
empowerment results, b) the participation of the community in the empowerment, c) perception on
the group dynamics, d) perception on the variety of CSR activities, e) the community’s perception
on CSR, f) internal and external factors, and g) information on CSR.
