| dc.description.abstract | This study aims at classifyng (1) the structural shift type of Independent clause and its
translation quality of translated Harry Potter 1; (2) the structural shift type of independent
clause and its translation quality of translated Harry Potter 2; and (3) translation shift tendency
of independent clause and its translation quality of translated Harry Potter 1 and 2. This is
descriptive qualitative research. The data are all sentences containing independent clauses and
their translation taken from Harry Potter 1 nad 2 and their Indonesian translation. Tha data
are collected using content analysis of the novel, questionnaire, and interview with three
readers. The collected data are analyzed using comparing method, assessing quality model and
analysis of domain, taxonomy, componential, and cultural theme. Based on the analyzed data,
the findings are (1) there are four structural shift types of Independent clause and its translation
quality of translated Harry Potter 1; (2) there are five structural shift types of independent
clause and its translation quality of translated Harry Potter 2; and (3) there are four translation
shift tendency of independent clause and its translation quality of translated Harry Potter 1 and
