Abstract

This research aims at exposing the profile of Putri Bungsu based on the text of Babad Pasir. The object of the study is Babad Pasir published by Knebel. The selection of the object is based on its position as a standard text. The research employs philological and literary methods. Philological method is used for determining the manuscript as the research object, and literary method is for interpreting the text. The literary analysis is conducted using the structural approach focusing on the character and characterization of Putri Bungsu in Babad Pasir. The result of the research shows that Babad Pasir portrays Ciptarasa as the Putri Bungsu representing the symbols of fertility, union of kingdoms (Pajajaran and Pasirluhur), and object of men’s Oedipus Complex.
