dc.description.abstractBerdasarkan teori dan modelnya, modal manusia dipandang memiliki peran penting dalam penciptaan nilai ekonomi dan bisnis. Namun demikian beberapa kajian dan dari implementasi program pembangunan sumber daya manusia (SDM) sering ditemukan ketidak pastian efektifitasnya ketika dikaitkan dengan peningkatan kinerja usaha. Hal ini dapat menimbulkan keraguan terhadap manfaat investasi SDM dan mencederai pentingnya modal manusia bagi keperluan bisnis. Penelitian modal manusia sering ditemukan hasil yang tidak signifikan. Penelitian yang ada biasanya lebih cenderung menggunakan data kuantitatif, seperti tahun untuk tingkat pendidikan atau tahun pengalaman. Sedangkan pengukuran secara kualitatif sering diabaikan, misalnya tidak memasukkan variasi pengalaman untuk mengukur pengalaman. Tidak memasukkan jenis latihan, kesesuaian latihan, serta tidak memperhatikan jenis keterampilan yang diperlukan ketika mengukur aspek keterampilan. Perlu ditekankan bahwa aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang bersifat kualitatif merupakan satu sumber yang penting bagi usaha untuk mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek modal manusia yang bersifat kualitatif. Memasukkan aspek tersebut dimungkinkan dapat lebih baik untuk memastikan peran modal manusia terkait dengan kinerja. Disamping itu, penelitian terdahulu tentang modal manusia kebanyakan hanya mencakup satu atau dua aspek saja secara terpisah. Begitu juga ketika menganalisis hubungannya dengan aspek kinerja, kebanyakan penelitian hanya mengkaji satu atau dua aspek kinerja saja dan seringkali menghasilkan signifikansi penelitian yang tidak pasti. Dimungkinkan hal itu disebabkan oleh tidak tepatnya penentuan keterkaitan antara aspek modal manusia yang dipilih terhadap aspek kinerja, dan pengukuran setiap aspeknya. Dengan demikian perlu untuk melakukan penelitian modal manusia yang lebih komperhensif aspek-aspeknya baik kuantitatif maupun kualitatif, untuk dapat mengidentifikasi aspek mana saja yang dapat berperan penting terhadap kinerja usaha. Penelitian ini terbagi ke dalam dua tahap, yaitu pada tahun pertama bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi signifikansi berbagai aspek pengukuran kualitas SDM untuk dapat dimasukkan sebagai aspek pengukuran modal manusia pengusaha. Kemudian pada tahun kedua bertujuan untuk melakukan pengukuran modal manusia pengusaha melalui penyusunan suatu indeks modal manusia (IMM) yang merupakan suatu model pengukuran pencapaian kualitas modal manusia pengusaha. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang bagaimana mengukur kemanfaatan investasi dalam peningkatan kualitas SDM sebagai suatu modal manusia yang akan bermanfaat dalam peningkatan kinerja usaha. Dengan demikian akan menghilangkan keraguan berbagai hasil kajian yang sering mendapatkan hasil tidak yang signikan dalam menganalisa pengaruh investasi dalam modal manusia terhadap peningkatan kinerja usaha.in_ID
