dc.description.abstractPenelitian sebelumnya terhadap ekstrak meniran dan sambiloto menunjukkan aktivitas antidiabetes dan antioksidan. Nanoteknologi dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan formulasi obat tradisional, berkaitan dengan berbagai keterbatasan sediaan farmasi dari ekstrak herbal, antara lain dosis yang besar, kelarutan yang kecil dan rendahnya bioavailabilitas zat aktif. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan obat herbal terstandar, dengan memformulasi ekstrak herba sambiloto dan meniran menjadi sediaan nanoemulsi, untuk kemudian diuji aktivitas antidiabetik dan aktivitas antioksidannya, dibandingkan dengan sediaan ekstrak. Formulasi sediaan nanoemulsi dilakukan dengan metode ultrasonikasi dengan berbagai emulgator seperti Tween 80, Span dan kombinasinya. Sediaan nanoemulsi selanjutnya dienkapsulasi dengan minyak zaitun dan dilakukan optimasi nanoenkapsulasi. Nanoemulsi yang terbentuk dan stabilitas fisiknya dikarakterisasi dengan alat zetasizer. Selanjutnya dilakukan standarisasi ekstrak dalam sediaan nanoemulsi dengan metode HPLC. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan formulasi SNEDDS dengan surfaktan tween menghasilkan larutan yang stabil, dan selanjutnya pembentukan self assembled nanoemulsi dapat dilakukan dengan formulasi tersebut.in_ID
