UPAYA PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS (WRITING) TEKS PROSEDUR BERBAHASA INGGRIS MELALUI MEDIA GAMBAR PADA SISWA KELAS X DI SMA BATIK I SURAKARTA
Abstract
This research aims at finding out whether images are able to improve the
students’ achievement in English text writing procedures. The subjects of the
research are the first year students od SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. The research
consists of two cycles; each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation,
and reflection. The data-collecting methods are observation and
test. The data are analyzed in descriptive comparative manner. The result of
the research shows that learning writing through images can improve the students’
achievement. The average score of the initial achievement is 42.07,
while that of the first cycle is 61.59, and finally 68.11 at the second cycle. In
addition, learning writing through images also increases the students’ motivation
for writing exercises.
