WAYANG SEBAGAI SUMBER DAN MATERI PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN BUDI PEKERTI BERBASIS BUDAYA LOKAL
Abstract
This study aims at understanding the social-cultural background of the
society of Surakarta and the neighborhood that support the sustainability of
wayang (shadow-puppet play) and finding the potentials of wayang as source
and material for ethics learning in schools. The data-collecting methods were
observation and interview, while the data-analyzing method was descriptivequalitative.
The result of the study showed that wayang performance was
declining and its values were degrading too. However, wayang stories and
characters were potentials to be developed as source and material for ethics
learning in schools. It required such a proper packaging that wayang could be
presented in schools.
