This research aims at finding out the effects of using role play on speaking ability of education staffs at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS). The research employed research method with quasi-experimental design using one group pre-test-post-test design. Research subjects are 11 people of education staff in Campus 4 Unimus. The results showed that the score of speaking ability has adequate difference between pre-test and post-test about 18.5% from 65 to 77. Questionnaire resul shows that English learning training has an influence to motivate participants in daring to speak English confidently. In conclusion, this English communication training influenced for education staffs’ English speaking ability and should be enhanced to improve the quality of education atmosphere.
