Pendidikan Karakter Di Dalam Pembelajaran Sekolah Dasar Melalui Model Group Investigation
Abstract
Character education is one important concern in human development from an early age through
formal education. The current state of society requires the development and strengthening of a strong
character to improving the quality of the nation. This study aims to produce the concept of learning
science by incorporating elements of character education in it, especially for education in primary
schools. This research method is the study of literature. The study shows that the Natural Sciences
(IPA) can play a role in building the character of students through the implementation of a
cooperative approach in particular the model group investigation. Steps character education-based
science learning through group investigation model of this by integrating the values of characters into
six lessons that consists of the determination of sub topics and the formation of groups, planning
investigations, conduct of investigations, organizing reports, presentation of results, and evaluation.
This model can help students to acquire new knowledge, develop social skills and teamwork. Social
skills can be of character values of the nation desired or predefined by the Ministry of National
Education. Besides scientific attitude needed to learn science can nurture and develop students of
character values.
