dc.description.abstractEducation is an important level in the life of the nation. There are at least two reasons that can be identified so that education remains up to date for review. First, the need for education is crucial because it is directly related to the realm of life and human life. Secondly, education is also a strategic vehicle for improving the quality of human life, characterized by increased levels of welfare, declining poverty levels and the opening of alternative options and opportunities for self-actualization in the future. One of the most important factors in the success of education is the existence of teachers. The success of education will be largely determined by professional teachers. At the elementary level, there is a need for a professional elementary school teacher. Professional teachers are teachers who have the required competencies to perform educational and teaching tasks. Competence here includes knowledge, attitudes, and professional skills, both personal, social and academic. In Permendiknas Number 16 of 2007 explained there are four competence of teachers that is pedagogical compotence, professional competence, personal competence and social compensation. The four competencies are owned by the teacher through process and improvement efforts. The existence of the fact that elementary teachers are less competent and less professionals need to have an effort to have the competence owned and implemented in full by the elementary school teachers so that they become professional teachers who can provide maximum educational services and as a key role in creating a quality education and shaping Indonesian Dreamed of this nation.in_ID
