Profesi Pendidikan Dasar diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta dimaksudkan sebagai media informasi, komunikasi, dan forum pembahasan ilmu terutama yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan dan pengajaran ke-SD-an dari berbagai aspek. Jurnal ini berisi tulisan ilmiah, ringkasan hasil penelitian atau survey, hipotesis atau pemikiran orisinil yang bersifat kritis, kreatif, dan aktual. Redaksi mengundang para penulis, khususnya tenaga edukatif, praktisi, ilmuwan, serta para peminat bidang pendidikan dan pengajaran khususnya pengajaran ke-SD-an untuk menuangkan ide-ide dan hasil kajiannya sekaligus mengkomunikasikan temuan keilmuannya dalam forum ini kepada civitas akademika yang lain dan masyarakat luas.
